Christopher Goetz
Executive vice president
International Federation of Pharmaceutical Wholesalers (IFPW)

Chris has spent his entire career as an association executive. He has served IFPW for over 28 years, in positions of increasing responsibility, taking on the role of executive vice president and general manager in 2008. He also led the creation of IFPW Foundation in 2012 – with a mission of increasing access to medicines and vaccines through collaboration with existing initiatives.

Today Chris oversees all of the day-to-day operations of both not-for-profit organizations; establishes and manages their respective strategies and budgets; develops new opportunities for the global wholesale industry – particularly in global health initiatives; and coordinates the activities of IFPW’s seven-person team from IFPW’s headquarters in the Washington, D.C. area.

In addition, for IFPW Foundation, Chris serves as the lead on the Foundation’s three primary activities: 1) implementing the STEP 2.0 leadership programme to empower public health supply chain personnel in the developing world through private sector engagements; 2) supporting the Fight the Fakes Alliance in its mission to combat substandard and falsified medicines; and 3) supporting the creation of the African Pharmaceutical Distribution Association (APDA) as a platform for improving access to medicines and supply chain security on the African continent.

In 2023, Chris became a member of the executive committee for People that Deliver, an effort to strengthen the capacity of the health supply chain workforce while promoting the professionalisation of supply chain roles within health systems.

Chris holds degrees in both Accounting and Finance from Virginia Tech and is married with two children. He enjoys the outdoors, travel and cooking in his free time.
