David Sprent
Mr. Sprent joined Unilever in 1982 as a management trainee directly after graduating from Manchester University with an engineering degree. He spent the next 35 years with Unilever! After eight years working in the UK personal products business in various manufacturing and engineering roles. Mr. Sprent was transferred to the US as factory manager of the toothpaste operation. In 1992, he returned to the UK working in a global supply chain role rolling out new supply chain practices. In 1998, he moved to Argentina to design and build the Personal Products supply chain in Latin America, returning to the UK in 2003 to lead the Global Supply Chain. In 2008, he moved to Istanbul to head up the supply chain operation in Turkey, Israel and Iran. In 2011, he was appointed onto the Unilever UK and Ireland Board responsible for the Supply Chain function. In 2105-16, he was responsible for linking the customer service and distribution functions through the design and implementation of global operations centres. He left Unilever at the end of 2016 and enjoyed a “gap year” in 2017. He is married with three children and two dogs. Mr. Sprent has been Chair of the Westnell Nursery Society for the last 30 years, a charity he set up with his partner to provide pre-school education in Lima Peru. This has provided an education to over 3,000 students and provided employment for 20 persons.
