Philippe Francois is an international supply chain leader who brings with him more than 30 years of experience in managing healthcare supply chains. Throughout his international career in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia and the United States, Philippe has been instrumental in defining and deploying broad supply chain strategies. In the private sector he served as senior vice president in charge of global supply chain for multinational companies including Baxter Healthcare and Becton & Dickinson in the medical device industry, as well as Novartis in the pharmaceutical industry. In these positions he managed large international distribution networks supporting billions of dollars of medicine supply worldwide. In the public healthcare sector, Philippe led the supply operations group at the Global Fund where he oversaw, purchasing, supply chain and the quality, supply and distribution over a billion dollars’ worth of medicine per year for low- and medium-income countries fighting AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.

Philippe is a French and Swiss national based in Geneva. He holds a master’s degree in engineering and a post graduate qualification in business administration.

He has dedicated a large part of his professional life to improving access to medicine worldwide. He joined MSH a year ago as senior technical director focused on supply chain system strengthening activities and private sector engagement, though which Philippe contributes his expertise and experience to continue to impact healthcare access worldwide.
