Ehijie Felix Enato, is Professor of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice, University Benin, Nigeria, and President, simHealth Africa (Africa Society for Improved Health Delivery), a not-for-profit organisation. His professional and research interests are in the areas of healthcare delivery systems, health research, medicines management and supply chain. He has over 25 years’ work experience in teaching, research, administration and community service, and over the years, he has demonstrated capacity for bringing his teaching and research experiences from the university to the community. Professor Enato has varied expertise and experience in public health programming and implementation, and biomedical, clinical and operational research. He has led or participated in several high-level national and international technical meetings, projects or programmes, organised or supported by several national and international organizations, including the Government of Nigeria, World Bank, WHO,  MDG, Gates Foundation and The Global Fund to fight HIV/AIDs, Malaria, and TB (TGF). His work as the lead expert for the education package workstream of TGF funded “Nigeria Supply Chain Integration Project (NSCIP)” led to the development and institutionalisation of health supply chain (SC), including SC human resource development at the federal and in all 37 state ministries of health in Nigeria.

Professor Enato is a member of several international scientific and professional bodies, and has held several academic, technical, managerial and leadership positions within and outside the university. He is a strong advocate of human resource development and the value of exploring local talents and innovations in addressing local problems. He is a versatile academic, innovator, consultant, advocate/motivator and mentor, and has designed and implemented several capacity building programmes for practitioners/professionals, students, ministry staff and community members. He is the convener/chair of AHD Conference (Africa Conference on Healthcare Delivery), with the objective to “advance sustainable value and innovation in healthcare delivery systems, medicines management and supply chain, and to train/mentor professionals, academics and students in key subject areas.” Professor Enato holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree, and a master’s and PhD in Clinical Pharmacy. In addition, he has received several international sponsorship grants and been admitted onto fellowship programmes (such as the Timothy Pennell International Fellowship in global health and the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program in environmental justice and sustainability) and has obtained a certificate of achievement in global health delivery from Harvard University School of Public Health, USA.
