Q&A

Go straight to the PtD Exchange

At the end of December the People that Deliver (PtD) secretariat will close its doors. PtD’s mission, though, will live on through the PtD Exchange

The PtD Exchange will continue the work of the coalition by alerting countries and supply chain practitioners to PtD’s tools and approaches, and ensuring supply chain management professionalisation remains a priority in low- and middle-income countries.

Here is all you need to know about the PtD Exchange.

What is the Exchange?

The People that Deliver (PtD) Exchange is a volunteer network dedicated to the promotion and continued growth of PtD’s tools, knowledge and community. The Exchange provides a space for innovation and collaboration to ensure PtD’s resources remain relevant and accessible.

The Exchange platform allows participants to connect, collaborate and discuss. Through the discussion board we invite members to share their experiences of employing PtD tools and approaches, and their workforce development solutions.

Is the PtD Exchange replacing the PtD coalition?

Yes – the PtD secretariat will close in December 2025. The PtD Exchange has been conceived to provide a space for members to collaborate and to continue the work of the coalition. We envisage the Exchange becoming a thriving global network where organisations and individuals connect, share and co-create, with open access to PtD’s tools and knowledge, and opportunities for peer exchange.

What is the goal of the Exchange?

Very simply the goal of the PtD Exchange is to sustain, advocate and promote the growth of PtD’s tools and knowledge. We want to ensure that PtD’s resources remain relevant and accessible, while creating space for innovation and collaboration.

The Exchange will be led by its community: members shape the agenda, activities and future direction. The Exchange is open and inclusive, and open to all interested practitioners, policymakers, researchers and organisations.

We invite you to start a discussion today!

Who will run the Exchange?

The Exchange is run by volunteers who will help moderate discussions and shape the agenda, activities and future direction. The advisory board – which includes the PtD chair, deputy and others  – will oversee the strategic management of the Exchange.

The volunteer positions available include:

  • Volunteer moderator (on a quarterly basis)
  • Volunteer advisory group member (see terms of reference

If you wish to apply for one of these positions or would like more information, email Dominique Zwinkels.

Who is the PtD Exchange for?

The Exchange is for anyone interested in strengthening supply chain systems: governments, international, donors, multilateral agencies, nongovernmental organisations, academic institutions, professional associations, private companies.

We encourage you to join to today and to be curious: if you’re unfamiliar with supply chain management professionalisation and how it builds a competent workforce, ask questions. If you’ve implemented any of PtD’s tools (such as the Theory of Change, the Professionalisation Framework or the Outsourcing toolkit) let us know and how it went.

What is expected of Exchange participants?

If the Exchange is to become a thriving community it will need fully participating members: members that share, adapt and build on PtD’s tools and resources, and exchange lessons, experiences and effective practices. We envision the Exchange as a place where members connect and collaborate with other practitioners, policymakers and researchers.

We also want members to be advocates: advocate the recognition of and investment in supply chain professionalisation, and in doing so promote evidence-based approaches to strengthen supply chains.

We envisage members sharing their experiences of implementing PtD’s tools, recommending how best to implement and explaining how they did it. We’d like members to advocate supply chain management professionalisation – within their organisations and among the broader health supply chain community.

Join the PtD Exchange today and help to keep workforce development at the top of the agenda.
